The University College London or UCL as it is more commonly known is one of the largest universities in the U.K. with a reputation that precedes it across the globe. With campuses and courses located at various sites and locations both in and around London the UCL offers a broad range of education to a very broad range of students.

The Adastral park campus located just outside Ipswich is home to the MSc in Information Security,  an advanced program for computer science and engineering graduates who wish to be involved with the security aspects of Information Technology.

Aimed at attracting students from all over the world UCL are continually looking for ways to draw foreign students attention towards their program. After preliminary discussions with UCL staff the production of a promotional film outlying the course and the location of the campus was planned for production.

After the construction of a storyboard and the input of UCL staff it was clear what direction the film would take and film days were booked for both Ipswich and London locations.Film days involved both students and lecturers and time was maximized to ensure as little disruption as possible.

Once the first draft was produced further discussions took place between Geocast and UCL staff to establish any final changes and decisions on audio and voice over soundtracks.

The final produced film, once encoded for both web and mobile viewers was placed within the existing UCL website and a separate DVD copy was made available for distribution by the University.

All copies of the UCL film were created with a separate clickable layer working as a ‘call to action’ when being viewed on external websites. This technique along with the strategic placement of the UCL film within the international student website realm means that their film will continue to be viewed my prospective students long into the future.
